My mom and I had a little mini adventure in Port Townsend. It was a perfect fall day… clear and crisp. We wandered through some of the shops, enjoyed some hot apple cider, bought some books for my yet-to-be-born nephew (he’s due in March!!), then explored the Chetzemoka Park my dear friend Laura told me about. She said it was a hidden gem and knows what I like so I knew we couldn’t head home until we checked it out.

There were flowers, playgrounds, bench swings, stone-paved paths lined with moss, a sweet little creek, and beautiful views of the water and Mt. Baker in the far off distance. There’s even a path down to the beach, but the tide was in so I didn’t explore.

On our way out of town we spotted some of the resident wildlife… a momma deer and two younguns! They weren’t as excited about us as I was about them.

It was such a lovely afternoon! It hasn’t been too long since I was there with Laura and Elle… but even with two visits within a few short months, I still can’t wait to go back!
