PDFC dog show

The Peninsula Dog Fanciers’ Club, Inc. All-Breed Dog Show is this weekend at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds!

If you love dogs (there’s lots!), are looking to do some research before getting a dog (it’s a great place to talk to owners and find out more about the different breeds), need some new doggie gear (there will be a variety of doggie vendors), like to watch the active competitions (there will be obedience and rally trials), or just want to come see me ( :) )… you should come check it out! Sometimes it is just as (if not more) entertaining to watch the people there than the dogs… so if you’re an avid people-watcher, this would be a great event for you, too!

My mom and her Sunny after he won Best of Winners at a show in Canada.

Everything starts at 8am on both Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. The judging schedule is available online, so you can find out when and where the breeds will be that you might want to check out.

It is free to get into the show, but you have to pay for parking. (I’m not sure how much it is this year… maybe $5? $7?)

**Well-behaved kids are welcome, but no strollers (they are a hazard to the dogs as well as to the kids’ faces– being on level with the dogs and all) and remember to have them ASK the owner before petting any dog… you just never know how the dog’s temperament will be (or the owner’s, for that matter).**

Piper and her sons, Taylor and Sunny*

*My mom and I won’t be entering the boys in the show because we are members of the club and will be working… and there aren’t any Tollers entered this year at all, but I couldn’t write something about a dog show without any token doggie pictures!
